“Life is better being a mom.”
Girl power
We live in a world where women are constantly having to prove their worth, their abilities, and their competence. Women are degraded by men, intentionally and unintentionally. I have four girls. I'm always worried about them and I tend to overthink how my husband and I should raise them.
Hang in there tired mama
If you're a mama, you're tired....so tired. Sometimes you'll wonder how you're gonna make it through the day, and then you realize it's not even noon! Sometimes you'll be on your fifth coffee and you're still thinking you need tape to keep your eyes open.
What to do with money gifts
Growing up, all of our parents were the same with money gifts. If you got money for birthdays or Christmas from family members, it was put straight into your savings account. You were not to touch that until you turned 18. What's the problem with that? Saving is great!!!
Quit the mommy debates
The other day I saw a post on vaccinations. I'm not gonna say what side the article took or what side I took on the matter. What I will say is that it got messy. It got ugly. It got mean.
Sister best friends
If you're a parent, I'm sure you feel the same as me. Our heart desires for our kids to become the best of friends! We want them to go to each other when they need encouragement, want to have fun, need advice, but most importantly....when they need love.
Nobody knows you better than your kids
I came to this conclusion in the car the other day while running errands with my girls. Singing <em>obnoxiously and having a dance like nobody's watching attitude. Think about it.
You are....enough.
What if I told you that no matter where you're at in life that you are enough? Do you feel like you immediately want to disagree?
Back to school be like...
All of us moms do it, we set more goals for ourselves at this time of the year than New Year's Eve! We tell ourselves we're gonna pack lunches the night before.... well balanced ones of course, set out <em>non wrinkled clothes on the dresser and backpacks on the counter the night before, we dream of styling their hair oh so perfectly with no frizz, and you know....the list goes on.
Kids interview
Sometimes as moms, we question just how good we are doing with our kids. I'm not sure what makes me question myself the most, the swift kick to the face by my toddler, or the eye roll of my 7 year old. Who knows? But I thought to myself, what's a better way to truly know than to ask our own kids???
Thankfuls
In my family's opinion, "thankfuls" are the favorite of all traditions! Every Saturday we have a family sabbath. A full day of rest. No cleaning. No activities with friends. Family fun only, whether that be time at the beach (almost every Saturday), bowling, bookstore, or park. Then we have family dinners together....on the couch. Casual is more our style. Then we end our restful and fun day by getting cozy by the fire in the backyard and saying our thankfuls.
