Have you ever thought about children other than your own? Children who have less than yours? Typically our lives are so chaotic as parents doing things for our children that we don’t feel we have extra time to think about children other than our own. I get it, we are constantly pouring out all of our energy and love for our own.... as we should!
Kids interview
Sometimes as moms, we question just how good we are doing with our kids. I'm not sure what makes me question myself the most, the swift kick to the face by my toddler, or the eye roll of my 7 year old. Who knows? But I thought to myself, what's a better way to truly know than to ask our own kids???
Thankfuls
In my family's opinion, "thankfuls" are the favorite of all traditions! Every Saturday we have a family sabbath. A full day of rest. No cleaning. No activities with friends. Family fun only, whether that be time at the beach (almost every Saturday), bowling, bookstore, or park. Then we have family dinners together....on the couch. Casual is more our style. Then we end our restful and fun day by getting cozy by the fire in the backyard and saying our thankfuls.
Parent vacation
Parenting is full of joy, but it is also a lot of work! Day after day it can wear on us moms and dads. And although our kids may see us as superhero's, we are only humans. Guess what?! Humans need breaks.

Raising PATIENT kids
Patience is the ability to tolerate a delay without getting upset. Let's get real, what other mamas are with me in lacking this quality?! I mean.....come on, us parents are not the most patient of people. I'll admit, my girls have heard me say things like "hurry up, just get your dang shoes on" or even heard me speak to others while driving (like they can even hear me....) by saying "move out of my way".
Mom Friends Forever
Parenting is beautiful and one of the greatest gifts, but's it is tough!! One of the best ways to lighten the load is by having mom friends! If you're confused about diapering, a funky rash, sickness, etc....call your mom friend. If you're excited about a first step, a first word, or that they managed to not have a blowout for a whole day....call your mom friend. If you're frustrated with the terrible 2's, the terrible 3's, terrible teens....call your mom friend. Shoot, if you are just struggling yourself and needing encouragement.... call your mom friend!
Dating Your Spouse
When you become parents, kids typically start becoming first place rather than your spouse. I get it, they’re cuuute, but don’t let that cute face fool you. The best thing you can do for your kids is putting your spouse first!
